驅散陰霾之虛室生白 Dispel Doom Empty Chamber Brightness Born

“瞻彼闋者，虛室生白，吉祥止止。”《莊子·內篇·人間世》。一般解釋虛室生白的本意是說，室內沒有光線或光線暗淡，是因為室內的東西太多，把它拿走，讓室內空出來，光線就多了，就會看到光輝。心靈也是一樣，只有讓心室處於“虛極”的狀態下，才能在一定程度上感悟萬物本源，體會老子說的“道沖”。

Generally speaking, the meaning of the”empty chamber” is that there is no light or the light is dim in the room, only because there are too many things in the room. If you take them all away and leave the room empty, you will see more light. The same is true for the soul. Only when the mind is in “the utmost in passivity” can we understand the origin of all things to a certain extent and experience the “Tao is a hollow vessel” as Lao Tzu said.
